The Prairie Provinces and Territories had broken previous records for lottery windfall of $1 million and more in 2010. 2010 would go down as the year with 53 prizes of a million dollars and more won by players in the region. For the year 2010, the total win was a staggering $260,440,742.90!
There were millionaires in all the provinces in the West, such as Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. The North had created millionaires too with two $1 million winners in the Northwest Territories.
In so far as the lottery win is concerned, most winners told they needed more time to think about what to do with their windfall. Majority of the newly created millionaires said that the windfall won’t change their life as it just makes life a bit easier for them.
