A resident of Mississauga, Ontario wins $5 Million Lotto Max jackpot

Steven Bishop was one of the two jackpot winners of the May 27, 2011 Lotto Max draw. He now has the opportunity to live his dreams to the max! He matched all of the seven numbers for the $10 million jackpot together with another winner from Peterborough, Ontario.

Residents of Ottawa-Area win $3.1 million Lotto 6/49 jackpot

20 Ottawa-area residents who constitute a lottery group were on ‘cloud 6/49’ after taking home a stunning $3.1 million in the May 25, 2011 Lotto 6/49 draw. This group of Ottawa residents has been playing together for more than ten years. They created the lottery group when they met at a restaurant and were inspired to form one hoping they would win the jackpot someday.

James Houston, the group leader, jokingly remarked that the members meet every week the same restaurant to “iron out the world’s problems.” He has been the leader of the group for the past eight years.

Houston told that the group has been playing the same set of numbers for the past seven years. As the leader of the group, he is tasked to check winning numbers and validate their tickets.

Then came the day they won. He explained: “Someone else first checked the numbers online but was looking at the wrong date and so we thought we didn’t win anything. It wasn’t until I went and validated it that I discovered the mistake and realized we had won a jackpot!”
